Remote data capture unit

Development of a remote data capture unit for an installation with geothermal energy

The Energylab Technology Centre, in one of its projects to verify the efficiency of facilities with renewable energies based on the use of geothermal energy, requested collaboration with CIS Technology and Design for the development of an unattended electronic unit that would collect data from these facilities.

A unit was developed that, with a different operating concept from those already available to them, would replace the existing ones, collecting data from the installation. This data was sent by means of GSM mobile technology to a central server in their facilities. These stations could be restarted remotely in the event of power failures and had remote control to, if necessary, to update their software. This way, travel costs were avoided in the event of failure. CIS Technology and Design delivered more than 20 of such units that were installed throughout the Spanish geography.
