galician idt, pgdit plan
Description
Development of a platform for non-destructive inspection based on electromagnetic effects. Eddy current and magnetic flux loss techniques were used.
In the first phase of the project, electronic and software developments were carried out to investigate the effectiveness of this technique on parts with known defects.
In the second phase of the project, a compact electronic equipment was developed that obtained signals from the probes and was connected by USB to a computer, which had software, also developed in the project, which facilitated the automation of the inspection.

DIAPASOM
galician idt, pgdit plan
Description
The DIAPASOM project was based on the use of ICT tools to characterize the arc welding processes carried out manually, measuring process parameters and calculating a series of values.
A portable equipment with sensors connected to the manual welding machine was developed, incorporating software designed to capture data from the sensors and obtain parameters of the quality of the process and its execution.
Its purpose was to objectively evaluate the skills of a manual welder, as a generator of technical support reports in welder homologation processes and as a method of parameter verification and pre-diagnosis of critical welds

FOTOV- CONTROL DE ENERGÍA INYECTADA A LA RED MEDIANTE ALMACENAMIENTO INTELIGENTE
galician idt, pgdit plan
Description
Development of a controller for injection of constant energy into the grid from photovoltaic installations through efficient accumulation systems.
The production of renewable energy has experienced an increase in recent years, as well as legal regulations, which oblige producers to deliver in advance a prediction of the energy they will inject into the grid. With wind energy this prediction was already made on a regular basis, however with regard to photovoltaic energy new strategies were required.
In this project, a meteorological model was used for this prediction, and since the model was subject to variations, the proposed mechanism was the storage of the energy produced in excess with respect to the predicted one, which would be used in the moments of deficiency, thus achieving a greater approximation to the prediction.
The project was an example of transfer of results due to the collaboration with the USC, both in meteorological models and in hardware development.

CETROS - CÉLULA TRANSPORTABLE PARA ROBOTIZACIÓN DE SOLDADURA
galician idt-pgdit plan
Description
In the CETROS project a transportable welding cell was developed, adapted to the world of large industrial parts.
This robot, with its welding machine, would move on a tracked platform to the place where the performance would have to take place instead of repeating the same sequence over and over again.
For the design phase, a simulation tool was developed that made it possible to check the accessibility of the prototype parts. A welding failure on a large part is a great loss and must be done correctly, so a system for recording welding parameters was developed to verify that it had been performed with the correct parameters.
Since the welds are unique, each robot program was used only once, so tools for auto-guidance and quick programming were developed.

MSP- MONITORIZACIÓN DE SOLDADURA POR PUNTOS
Galician idt- pgdit plan
Description
The objective of the project was to develop a software and hardware tool to diagnose the quality of resistance spot welding and to support subsequent automatic quality control and diagnosis projects.
The intervention in the welding machine was minimal, voltage and intensity were measured, which made it possible to calculate the evolution of the dynamic resistance. This parameter allowed us to check if a joint had been formed or if there were losses of material due to projections. It facilitated the optimization of times for an improvement in energy consumption. The system also allowed other parameters to be incorporated, such as the pressure of the clamps on the workpiece.
The project was awarded in EUROJOIN 2006 as the best applied research project.
